Shipping Sea buckthorn juice - berries & tea
Our Sea buckthorn products are harvested and minimally processed. This means the juice and berries must be kept frozen. Across Canada and the USA, we ship larger orders with a transport company which specializes in LTL cargo with reefer needs. Small orders of berries and juice can be picked up at our office or call/drop shipped to your location. *Dry ice may be necessary in certain cases.
We ship our dried Sea buckthorn products by Canada post or Fedex.
Bare-Root Sea buckthorn Shrubs
Most of our trees are shipped bare-root (without soil). Your young trees arrive in a dormant state without any apparent green growth, but they will spring to life soon after planting. And, you don’t have to pay extra shipping costs for the soil in a pot.
To be sure your bare root shrubs arrive in a strong and healthy condition, we ship them while they are sleeping. This means your plants have experienced 2-3 hard frosts and are already prepared to withstand the cold winter conditions. If possible, plant your shrubs within 5 days upon arrival. If it is not possible to plant within this time frame, it is recommended that your sea buckthorn be heeled in.
Shrubs can be planted until the ground is frozen solid. Fall shipments are made generally between November 1 and December 10.
Our Sea buckthorn shrubs can be planted during a broad range of weeks or months - from when the frost first leaves the ground through late spring. Shipments begin between April and May. We must receive reservations in the fall for orders to be shipped out in early spring.
It is best to plant your Sea buckthorn within 3 days of their arrival. Soak the roots in water for a couple hours just before placing them in the ground.
